Oasis of the Seas

Royal Caribbean International operates the cruise ship Oasis of the Seas. She is the first of her class, whose ships are the world’s largest passenger ships. Her hull was laid down in November 2007, and she was finished and handed over to Royal Caribbean in October 2009.

The groundbreaking design of Oasis of the Seas consists of seven distinct neighborhoods, each packed with amazing, innovative at-sea experiences, unlike anything you’ve seen before.

Oasis of the Seas has a variety of unique venues and meeting spaces to accommodate any occasion or group.

Throughout the ship, cutting-edge technology such as touchscreen signage, video walls, and the fastest Internet at sea are available – everything you need for the ideal balance of work and play.

Oasis of the Seas

Even more than a decade after its debut, the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas has been enthusiastically embraced as one of the cruise line’s most beloved vessels.

Oasis of the Seas can carry 5,606 passengers at double occupancy, but during peak seasons, the ship can carry nearly 6,700 passengers. Its onboard attractions are so popular that up to one-third of passengers never leave the ship while it is docked.

Oasis of the Seas is approximately 3.3 football fields long, so there is plenty of room for everyone.

Entertainment and Activities

There are plenty of things you can do on the Oasis, you will never be missed entertainment and other various activities.

Theatre Shows

The main theatre of the ship offers a variety of evening entertainment including an abridged version of the Broadway show “Cats” and the original show “One Sky.” The latter aims to demonstrate that we are all one family, despite our differences, but despite the upbeat message, the show itself is an odd mix of “Rock of Ages” grunge music, unsynchronized dancing, and mediocre aerial acrobatics.

AquaTheater is another theatre that cannot be missed. The 30-minute shows feature an Olympic-caliber team of divers, gymnasts, and synchronized swimmers who splash down into the deepest diving pool at sea in a music-accompanied routine. Aqua80, the most recent show, sets all of these feats to music from the 1980s.

Night Program

In the night, entertainment options include always-booked comedy acts in Blaze, slot machines and table games in the active and expansive Casino Royale, live music and dancing in several late-night bars, impressive ice-skating performances and game shows in Studio B, and standing-room-only singalongs in the Royal Promenade’s intimate Spotlight Karaoke.

Pools and Waterslides

The Oasis of the Seas has ten hot tubs, three main pools (the Main Pool, Sports Pool, and Beach Pool), and a covered Solarium Pool for passengers over the age of 16. Deck 15 contains all four of these.

The Sports Pool is ideal for more active water babies because it offers lap swimming as well as in-pool team sports such as basketball and water polo.

Sunbathers should look for lounge chairs near the pools and the Deck 15 Skywalk that connects them. Deck 14 also has a large sun deck with two observation platforms that extend out over the water. On Deck 17, suite passengers have their keycard-accessible sun deck.

Bars and Lounge

On Oasis of the Seas, there are several bars, and the ship sells a lot of drink packages.

Blaze Club, Jazz Club, and Diamond Club are located on Deck 4 and offer Hip-Hop, modern dance music, live music, daily snacks, and drinks.

Bionic Bar, Boleros, and Rising Tide Bar are located on Deck 5.

Sports Bar & Arcade and Schooner Bar are located on Deck 6.

Decks 8 and 9 have a music hall.

Restaurants

Restaurants on the Oasis of the Seas serve American, Italian, Asian, and Mexican cuisines, as well as a variety of free daytime snacks.

A whopping two dozen free and additional-fee dining options are spread across ten decks. In the main dining rooms, vegetarian, gluten-free, low-calorie, and lactose-free options are always available.

Dining on Oasis of the Seas may not be the highlight of the trip – this is one ship where you will want to budget for specialty dining, as the quality of the complimentary restaurants on Oasis of the Seas is subpar.

Cabins

Oasis of the Seas offers a breathtaking selection of cabins for all types of people traveling together at a variety of price points, with many rooms accommodating up to six passengers.

Choose wisely, what is most important to you. Choose a cabin with a view of the Boardwalk or the Promenade.

The suite experience on Oasis of the Seas includes a plethora of perks, including Royal Genie butlers, as well as a dedicated restaurant, making it one of the best suite offerings at sea.

Make a note that even the most desirable suites and cabins aren’t always private. Many of the Crown Loft Suites have balconies that directly overlook one of the busiest outdoor areas onboard, the basketball court and FlowRider areas, allowing passengers to see onto the Crown Loft balconies.

Climbers pass right by the AquaTheater suites’ balconies. People in the Oasis of the Seas Central Park and Boardwalk cabins can see into the adjacent rooms.
