How to reach Kathmandu to Pokhara I Everything you need to know
In Nepal, roads are not great and therefore the idea of traveling from Kathmandu to Pokhara via road fills with fear. The bus journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara is quite long, windy, dusty, hazardous, and completely difficult. The distance between these two cities is 200 km. approx., but a bus will take more than 7 long hours to reach Kathmandu to Pokhara.
Alternatively, you can take a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, which will be a half an hour journey. Taking a flight is highly recommended and it is the best comfortable way to travel within Nepal.
There is no doubt at all that Pokhara is one of the most attractive cities in Nepal, and easily accessible too. From Kathmandu, the Pokhara (lake city) is approximately 200 km. away, which means you can be there in 6-7 hours via road or in 30 minutes if you travel via air. Kathmandu to Pokhara by Air
There are 13-15 flights every day taking off to Pokhara from Kathmandu. The Nepali airlines like Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, and Simrik Airlines, operate between these two cities and provide daily services.
Taking a flight is the most comfortable and fastest way to travel in Nepal. An early flight will leave you with ample time throughout the day to enjoy activities and sightseeing in Pokhara. During the 30 minutes flight, you will get a majestic view of rolling hills and snow-capped mountains on a clear morning. If you are lucky enough to get a seat on the right-hand side of the airplane, you will see a grand view of the Great Himalayas.
If you are running short of time, travel via air is the best option to choose, we recommend you to take an early morning flight so you can have the full day for sightseeing and perhaps return to Kathmandu on the very same day. Flights are can sometimes be delayed because of poor weather.

You will have several travel options to reach Pokhara from Kathmandu if you decide to go via Road.
Reaching Pokhara by road is having fun which includes some challenges as well. The roads are not so great in Nepal and therefore road journeys can be unpredictable most of the time, especially during the rainy season. Your journey can be extended by up to 9 long hours to reach Pokhara via road.
